Somatic Sound

"Each celestial body, in fact each and every atom, produces a particular sound on account of its movement, its rhythm or vibration. All these sounds and vibrations form a universal harmony in which each element, while having it’s own function and character, contributes to the whole.”

Sound creates form

Sound shapes matter, it plays a fundamental role in calling forth the underlying geometry that guides the forms that we see and feel around us - from sea shells to flowers, from the patterns the sea leaves in the sand to the form of hurricanes, from the patterns in a tomato, to the spiral of galaxies, geometry underlies all form and repeats through out the universe. Sound causes that geometry to emerge from chaos - as shown when we play music through water or sand on a plate and see beautiful images emerging. This science is known as cymatics.  Sound has been used for many thousands of years for healing, across many cultures with cymatics we are starting to understand how it works and can explore its impacts in new ways. We are remembering it's power and potential.

Sound and the Soma

The soma is the body. There are many ways that sound impacts the body. our bodies have various cavities that can act as resonance chambers, amplifying sound as it moves through us. Humming has been shown to stimulate the production of nitrous oxide in the nasal cavities and lungs - a key immune system defence. Our nerves have been shown to be crystalline in structure and the impulses that run through them are sound - so sound is fundamental to our bodies function and impacts us deeply on a nervous system level.

As sound passes through our bodies it shapes the water within us in the same way that is shapes all water - bringing clear geometric patterns through us. My experience of this is that sound leaves me feeling clearer and more myself - as if all the static and confusion has been cleared from my system.

The purpose of our lives is to be happy
